🎉 WE’RE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE OUR FAMILY FUN WEEKEND! 🎉
11th & 12th of July 2026

We’re excited to finally share full details of the Spanish Water Dog Society of Great Britain’s Family Fun Weekend, taking place on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July 2026 near Eccleshall, Staffordshire.

We’ve put together a packed weekend designed to bring together everything that makes our breed and community so special. Over the weekend we’ll be offering:

Gundog training.
Fun gundog games, scurries and competitions.
Family games and activities.
Camping and campervans welcome.
Pizza oven and social evening.
Good Citizen Bronze Award testing.

We’re particularly excited to be hosting the Society’s first ever Members’ Limited Show on Sunday afternoon, and entries will be opening on Fosse Data very shortly.

We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a fantastic weekend of dogs, friends, fun and plenty of Spanish Water Dogs.

6th October 2026 – 7pm – Online

We’re hosting an Online Breed Appreciation Day for the Spanish Water Dog, with two experienced speakers delivering a clear, practical overview of the breed.

Pat Booth will cover breed history, while Anthony Allen, this year’s Crufts judge for the breed, will focus on the Breed Standard and key points of type.

There is also the option to sit the Multiple Choice Exam (MCE) following the seminar. Please ensure you meet Royal Kennel Club eligibility requirements, including being registered on the JEP at a minimum of Level 1 (or equivalent under the previous judging system), before taking the MCE.

 INTRODUCTION TO GUNDOG TRAINING (sold out)

We are hosting our first ever members training day!!

This exclusive session will be run by Damon Ross of Collydam Gundogs.

The ground is excellent and the day will include water work and jumps, offering a proper working environment for the dogs.

This day is suitable for all levels. If you’re new, it’s a solid introduction.

If you’re more experienced, it’s a good opportunity to refine foundations, pick up small adjustments and work your dog in a different setting under guidance.

You’re welcome to bring your own dummies or your dog’s favourite toy.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
